Thank you for your interest in my blog; My overviews of other product sharing websites including my account links.
Search engines see your links plastered all over the internet on legit sites and decide that your store is popular. The items in your store that search engines will divert traffic to aren’t necessarily the ones you advertise. Having a matching title, description and tags are crucial. With that being said, let us begin.
Tapiture
I recently discovered Tapiture and it seems it’s a twist of Pinterest and WaNeLo with a guy focus. I do like the usability and customizable folder options. I’ve never encountered a site geared only for men and that intrigues me.
Polyvore
I like Polyvore because it allows the user to create product collages that are useful to me as I use them as my store front folder graphics and for advertising. This site promotes the sharing of products and design ideas. At first glance it may come across as a little “girly” but I think it’s a very useful site.
Keep & Wanelo
I’ve decided to put these sites together because it seems they both do the same thing and I haven’t found a discernible difference between them other than layout. They are both similar to Polyvore in that they are an “online mall” of sorts. Keep and Wanelo are decent places to showcase products and look for ideas. Although I don’t think they have their own personality like Tapiture, or functionality like Polyvore, they’re still handy for spreading your back links on legit sites.
We Heart It
Weheartit is a solid, high traffic site that has a bit more personality than the usual “online mall” type sites. I don’t know how functional it actually is but I do seem to be getting more followers when I post stuff. I guess that’s a positive.
As far as diverting traffic to your store, Pinterest is about as useful as feathers on a chicken. However, it is a high traffic site that allows unlimited posts which means having your store links there hanging out for search engines to find certainly can’t hurt.
Google+
Google+ is a force to be reckoned with for no other reason than the fact that it is a Google site. Being in the favor of the biggest search engine on the planet is a good idea. Spreading your store links here will ensure that Google will find them. You want that.
Over time, Linkedin has become more than a job search site, it’s a little social network in and of itself. I would advise signing up and joining a group. It’s full of business people and contacts that could benefit you as it’s generally taken more seriously than a lot of sites out there.
Flickr
Flickr is a graphics site with a social networking twist as you can freely join groups and critique the work of others. It’s a high volume site and having an account here can’t hurt. I don’t use it much as I have other needs but lots of folks like it.
Viewbug
This is a “higher end” photo site with more serious photography. You’re probably not worthy.
Blogger
I don’t mean to annoy WordPress by adding Blogger links. I think WordPress is a much better site, otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this here! Sadly for me I discovered Blogger first and spent a lot of time there. I do want to share my personal examples of what the site has to offer so here it goes. These are all blog links for my various stores. There’s Conquest Kitty, (My cat’s store blog. Yes my cat has her own store. Don’t judge me until you’ve met her.) Fractal Abstract Art, West Virginia and Patterns. My newest stores don’t have blogs yet although I made one for Flags of the World. I’ll probably make new ones here at WordPress for all of them.
Stumbleupon
Stumbleupon is a neat, quirky site that no one goes to but it has it’s own personality and I kind of like it. It literally allows you to “Stumble” around the internet exploring sites with your interests.
Hub Pages
Hubpages is a blogging site I forgot all about until I looked myself up and found that I had an account on it. Go figure.
